Alan initially studied Sports Science at Brunel and West London graduating in 1987 where he then worked in the Health and Fitness industry-both here and abroad. This developed an interest in sports injuries and their rehabilitation that led to him studying at The British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in London where he graduated in 1996.

From 1997-2010 he was a Clinical Tutor at the BSO. As a result of his keen interest in Sport both academically and competively (squash-Bundesliga from 1983-1996) he specialises in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Alan is a registered care provider for all major health insurers.

Alan divides his time between his practice in Streatham and a private clinic in Gloucester Road.

David Seed

David was awarded a BSc Hons Degree in Osteopathy from the British School of Osteopathy in 2003. He has since completed Post Graduate training in Classical Osteopathy, Ergonomics, Paediatrics and Nutrition. David has developed an Holistic approach to treatment which aims to restore balance and vitality and remove any obstruction to the bodies inherent healing mechanisms. His approach is very patient centred and part of the treatment process involves taking the time to really listen to his patients and develop an individually tailored strategy to correct any given problem ranging from simple lower back pain to digestive dysfunction. David is the Senior Associate at Streatham Osteopaths and is also the founder of The Newtown Clinic-Marlow (www.thenewtownclinic.co.uk). David is a registered care provider with all major insurers. Francesca Wiggins

Francesca qualified as an osteopath in 2000 and worked mostly in Cambridge for the following 8 years in an osteopathic practice treating a wide range of patients ranging from infants and babies to the elderly, those needing help during pregnancy and sports people, including from disciplines such as rowing, running, golf and equestrianism.

Francesca has undergone postgraduate training in a variety of areas including cranio-sacral Osteopathy (especially for babies and children), visceral work with Dr Steve Sandler and lymphatic work with Bruno J. Chikly,MD, DO (France).

Francesca has a background in equestrianism which led to her introduction to osteopathy through the treatment of competition horses; Francesca has now returned to riding and attends every few weeks at Wildwoods riding centre at Walton on the Hill (which comes highly recommended!). Francesca continues with her running, having previously taken part in the Great North and South runs (2 different years of course!) and the Bath half marathon.

Francesca is also involved at the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) where she is Head of Clinical Practice and an Academic Lecturer. Francesca is registered with all major health insurers.

Bernadette Connolly

Bernadette qualified from the Surrey Institute Of Osteopathic Medicine with a BSC (Hons) in Osteopathy. Previous to this Bernadette has done voluntary work with Riding for the Disabled Association in Epsom and Harrow Wealdstone branches, working with riders and horses to ensure both benefit from the therapy without stress or injury.

Bernadette aims to expand her knowledge by studying cranial osteopathy for both adult and paediatric treatments.

Bernadette has experience treating a vast array of patients, including but not limited too, expectant mothers, musicians and semi professional athletes. She has a keen interest in nutrition, obstetrics, psychology and visceral osteopathy and aims treat patients in a holistic manner incorporating these varied fields with each patient.

In her free time Bernadette enjoys cycling, bikejoring, pilates and is currently studying Yoga and British Sign Language.

Justin Owen

Justin studied at The British School of Osteopathy where he gained his Masters Degree, and has since Qualified as a Medical Acupuncturist. He has also completed Post Graduate courses in Human Biomechanics.
He became interested in Osteopathy having sustained a chronic neck injury following a motorcycle accident. From school and early 20’s he played competitive Rugby both here and in Hong Kong and was also a keen Rower.
Justin has worked in a variety of Clinical settings and now works at Streatham Osteopaths on a Monday and Thursdays. His special areas of interest include the treatment of the Neck, Shoulder and the Lower Limb generally, in both the Sporty and Non-Sporty population.

Robin Burby

Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Robin’s First Degree was in Business at Cardiff and then started the 5 year TCM Degree at Middlesex University which was run in conjunction with Beijing University. This meant that half of his final year was spent at 2 of Beijing’s largest TCM Hospitals!

Robin graduated with a first Class Degree and the Association of TCM(ACTM) has expressed an interest in publishing his Dissertation on Acupuncture and Blood Pressure.

Robin also has a keen interest in the treatment of Sport Injuries as a result of his extensive participation and teaching of Shaolin Kung-Fu,and teaching of Tai-Chi and Chi Kung. Robin has also completed Post Graduate training in Advanced TCM Dermatology specialising in the treatment of Psoriasis Acne and Perioral Dermatitis. He has also completed Post Grad training in Pain Management with Auricular Acupuncture(Ear). This is especially aimed at sudden trauma/injuries/long term pain and in the treatment of Migraines/Tension or Cluster Headaches.

Paul’s career in the Health and Fitness industry spans more than 28 years. He is currently in the role of Sports Therapist & Sports Masseur for Herne Hill Harriers in Tooting and for Old Thorntonians FC. He is also their fitness trainer. Paul is also the Lecturer/Assessor for many BTEC courses including Sports Massage/Nutrition and Sports Development.

His own special sporting interests are martial Arts, namely Kung Fu, 3rd Degree Black Belt and Karate, 2nd Dan Black Belt.

Sharon’s psychotherapy experience also includes work with students in higher education within a university counselling service, and for MIND with a diverse and varied client group.

As an Integrative psychotherapist, Sharon has received training in various theoretical models, which she can draw on to suit the types of issues that each client brings and as appropriate to what they hope to gain from therapy. However, the main theoretical models that Sharon draws on are psychoanalytic theory; Attachment-based models, and Existential/Humanistic psychotherapy as informed by Existential philosophy.

Sharon trained at Regents University, in the school of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology in London, where she completed a Masters degree in Psychotherapy & Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy.

Sharon is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and is bound by their professional code of ethics. In addition to her private psychotherapy practice she has over 14 years’ experience working in the field of social care, with a varied client group including those with physical and learning difficulties.

For eight years Sharon has worked supportively with people with mental health problems in the public and private sector.
